Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America
With election season just around the corner, it’s always fun to see all the SCARY SCARY THINGS that the Christian Right was predicting would happen under an Obama administration in 2008.
Some highlights:
- The Boy Scouts have been disbanded.
- Eight states now prohibit gun ownership for self-defense.
- Home schooling has been made illegal, and thousands of parents have immigrated to Australia and New Zealand so that they can educate their children.
- The Taliban has taken over Iraq.
- Terrorist bombs have exploded in two large and two small US cities, but no arrests have been made.
- Russia has occupiedPoland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, with no US response.

Tax rates have gone up on personal income, dividends, capital gains,corporations, and inheritance transfers. The amount of income subject to Social Security tax has nearly doubled.
